Facebook has started supporting 3D photos, which means if you have a dual-lens phone, you can jump on the bandwagon. Share the photo from your phone to Facebook and viewers will be able to pan and tilt the photo for a more life-like effect. Not everyone has access to it at the moment, but the roll-out is happening and should be available to everyone within a few weeks.
You’ll need an iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X or an iPhone XS and all you have to do is set it to take a photo in Portrait mode. Share it as a 3D photo on Facebook, and voila, you’re done.
The 3D photos are also viewable in virtual reality via the Oculus Browser on Oculus Go or Firefox on Oculus Rift.
Facebook has some easy tips for creating good-quality 3D photos. It’ll be fun to experiment. I’ve already seen some very cool photos today.
